Discipleship Hour Teacher

Dr. Chris Kiesling is a professor of Human Development and Christian Discipleship. He holds a B.A. and Ph.D. from Texas Tech University and an M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary. He co-authored Spiritual Formation in Emerging Adulthood and contributed to several academic works. Before joining Asbury Seminary, he pastored at Manchester United Methodist Church in Arkansas and First United Methodist Church in Texas, and also served as a campus minister. Dr. Kiesling and his wife, Suzanne, have two sons.

Bible Hour Teacher

A faculty member at Nazarene Theological Seminary, she has a lifelong commitment to theological education. Raised on a seminary campus, she has spent her career teaching, preaching, and researching the Bible, emphasizing its many contexts and guiding students to a deeper understanding of God. She has authored commentaries on Ruth and Song of Songs and are currently researching Old Testament infertility themes for pastoral care.

Ordained in the Church of the Nazarene, she has served as a chaplain, pastor, and teacher at several institutions. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, while also pursuing hobbies like reading and knitting.

Evening Preacher

Rev. Dr. Michael Jordan is an ordained Wesleyan pastor with eleven years of pastoral ministry experience in United Methodist, American Baptist, and Wesleyan churches. From 2002-2009, he was the pastor of Exton Community Baptist Church in Exton, PA, and has also served on the pastoral staff of his current church, Houghton Wesleyan. He currently serves as Dean of the Chapel and Associate Professor of Religion at Houghton College. Mike’s wife Jill is a mathematician who also teaches at Houghton; they live just off campus and together are raising their five children: Grace, Jack, Lucy, Gabriel, and Anne. In his spare time, Mike enjoys singing, crossword puzzles and distance running and is a rabid fan of Philadelphia professional and college sports.
